Story Library Orientation & Scavenger Hunt--Distance Education: 1. Home

Learning to navigate Story Library and its resources for Distance Ed students

Read 1st! Welcome to your Orientation Library Scavenger Hunt!

Welcome to your online Orientation & Scavenger Hunt at Story Library.  We hope that this guide will familiarize you with Story Library and its collection and services.

The Orientation is designed to guide you from one part of the library to the next part by means of topic "tabs."  Simply follow the tabs, and you won't get lost.

When you finish this Orientation, you should know how to

  • find a book in the online catalog,
  • find a journal article in an database,
  • contact a librarian for assistance, and
  • place an Interlibrary Loan Request.

This is a work-at-your-own-pace Orientation.  By following it step-by-step, you will be able to easily complete the Scavenger Hunt.

If you have questions, you can email, call, or text your librarians.  We are here to assist you!

Read 2nd!

  1. Start with the Home tab.
  2. Work your way through all of the tabs. Don't skip any of them.
  3. Work at your own pace.  If you need to go back to a tab, you can!
  4. Save the Scavenger Hunt to do last!
  5. No orientation website will tell you everything you need to know about your library.  Visit us, and ask questions!
  6. Remember, the Library has
    • books in print,
    • e-books,
    • print journals,
