This guide identifies information resources useful to History including library research databases, journals, news, and career resources and other reference sources.

General resources for Social Studies Students Print Page

Search CBC Catalog for Books

Use the CBC Library Catalog to find books.

  • Keyword - broadest type of search.  Type in the keywords that broadly describe your topic linked with the AND connector.  For example: missionaries and india.
  • Title - search for a specific book by title.  Change the box label from "keyword" to "title" and type in the first few words of the book title.  For example: atomic frontier days
  • Author - search for books written by a specific author. Change the box label from "keyword" to "author" and type in the last name followed by the first name of the author.  For example: giebel christoph
